IN PURSUIT OF CROCKERY...

This antique shop in Horncastle, Lincolnshire made me cry a little bit. There were rows of tables stacked high in a courtyard with all manor of crockery. It's left exposed to the elements with the frost having destroyed half of it! I fear this may be what my garden ends up looking like...

POSTE MISTRESS 10TH BIRTHDAY PARTY

Rusty Mayfair took part in the 10th birthday of designer shoe brand Poste Mistress in September. Our cake stands, tea cups and saucers were used in store by customers enjoying raspberry cocktails (served in tea cups) and mini cupcakes flavoured with Amarula. Yum!

RAINBOW CAKE!

Look what I made!!! It was my best friend's 29th Birthday yesterday so I decided to bake her a rainbow cake :) It's hard to tell from these photos but there's also two layers of buttercream icing in green and orange separating the sponge layers. It looked great and tasted even better. Yum.

THE BOATHOUSE, NEWQUAY HARBOUR, CORNWALL

I found this restaurant last year while visiting Newquay, it's a little hidden gem on the edge of the town harbour. At first glance you can't make out what the building is, there's no brand name above the door and it's wood structure blends into the rock background. There's two large holding tanks filled with live crab and lobster next to the restaurant alongside a herb garden and outdoor kitchen, the atmosphere is laid back with guests dogs freely walking around. The deco`r has a rustic charm with well trodden wooden floor boards and fishing inspired paraphernalia on the walls. It's a family run business with a menu full of fresh fish dishes, I can't recommend the crabs claws enough (be prepared to tuck in with a pair of pliers!). This is a must visit if you happen to be visiting this corner of the country!
